Snooze & Triage

Snooze notifications and filter your inbox to focus on what matters.

A busy inbox can be overwhelming. Joyous gives you tools to triage notifications efficiently — snooze items for later, filter to what's relevant now, and use bulk actions to clear the noise.

Snooze options

Snooze lets you temporarily hide a notification and have it reappear when you're ready to deal with it. Right-click any notification (or use the context menu) and choose from four snooze options:

| Option | When it reappears | |--------|-------------------| | 1 hour | In one hour | | Tomorrow | Tomorrow at 9:00 AM | | Next week | Monday at 9:00 AM | | 1 month | In one month at 9:00 AM |

Snoozed notifications disappear from your default view and reappear in your inbox when the snooze period ends.

Snooze is perfect for notifications that need action but not right now — like a code review request that can wait until after your current sprint task, or a deadline reminder for next week's deliverable.

Filtering your inbox

The Inbox supports four filter modes, accessible from the filter controls:

  • All — Every notification, regardless of state
  • Unread — Only notifications you haven't read yet
  • Snoozed — Only snoozed notifications (useful for reviewing what's coming back)
  • Favorites — Only notifications marked as favorites

Switch between filters to focus on what matters right now. The notification count updates to reflect the active filter.

Bulk actions

For heavy inbox days, use bulk actions to clear notifications efficiently:

  • Mark all as read — Clears the unread state on all visible notifications. Accessible from the more menu (three dots) in the inbox header.
  • Delete all read — Removes all read notifications from your inbox, keeping only unread items.

Bulk actions apply to your filtered view. If you're viewing only unread notifications, "Delete all read" won't affect them.

Read and unread states

Notifications start as unread and are marked as read when you click on them. Unread notifications are visually highlighted in the list, and the unread count badge in the sidebar reflects how many you have.

You can also mark individual notifications as read or unread from the context menu, giving you control over what still needs attention.

Favorites

Mark important notifications as favorites to quickly find them later. Favorited notifications appear in the Favorites filter, making it easy to bookmark items you want to come back to — like a critical status update or an important comment thread.
