Creating Your Organization
Sign up and set up your organization with name and domain.
Your organization is the top-level container for everything in Joyous — teams, outcomes, work cards, and members all live within it. Setting one up takes less than two minutes and gives you a workspace ready for your entire team.
Before creating an organization, you need a Joyous account.
Choose your sign-up method
On the sign-up page, click Continue with Google for one-click authentication, or fill in the email form with your Full name, Work email, and a Password (minimum 6 characters).
Create your account
Click Create account. If you used Google, you'll be redirected back to Joyous after authorizing. Either way, you'll land on the onboarding screen.

Create the organization
After signing up, Joyous presents you with two options. Choose Create a new organization to start fresh.
Enter your organization name
Type your company or team name in the Organization Name field — for example, "Acme Corp" or "Product Team."
Add your company website
Enter your domain in the Company Website field (e.g., "acme.com"). Joyous automatically strips "https://", "www.", and trailing paths, so just type the bare domain.
Click Create Organization
That's it. Your organization is created and you're automatically assigned the Owner role — the highest permission level, with full control over settings, members, and the organization itself.
The Owner role cannot be removed and has access to everything. You can promote other members to Admin later for shared management, while keeping general members in the Member role. See Roles & Permissions for details.
Set up your profile
Immediately after org creation, Joyous walks you through a profile setup step so your teammates know who you are.
Choose an avatar color
Pick from the avatar color picker — your initials will appear on this colored circle throughout the app, making you recognizable in assignee lists, comments, and activity feeds.
Add your job title
Enter your role, like "Engineering Lead" or "Head of Product." This appears on your profile and helps teammates understand your function.
Write a short bio (optional)
A sentence or two about what you do. Keep it brief — there's a 280-character limit.
Click Continue (or Skip)
Save your profile and head to the home page, or click Skip to set this up later from Settings → Profile.
You can always update your profile from Settings → Profile — including adding skills across four categories (Mastered, Capable, Developing, Growth Interest) and setting your capacity in hours per week.
What's next
With your organization created, you're ready to bring in your team and start defining goals.
