Members Management

Invite new members, manage roles, and view active invites.

The Members tab in Settings is your central hub for managing who's in your organization. View all members, change roles, create invites, and remove people — all from a single interface.

Viewing members

The Members tab shows all organization members in a list sorted by role (Owners first, then Admins, then Members). Each row displays:

  • Avatar — Color-coded circle with initials
  • Name — Full name, with "(you)" appended for your own entry
  • Role — Current role: Owner, Admin, or Member

Changing roles

Admins and Owners can change member roles using the role dropdown next to each member's name.

  1. Find the member

Scroll through the members list to find the person whose role you want to change.

  2. Click the role dropdown

Click the dropdown showing their current role (Admin or Member). A select menu appears.

  3. Select the new role

Choose Admin or Member. The change takes effect immediately.

Restrictions:

  • You cannot change your own role
  • You cannot change the Owner's role
  • Only Admins and Owners see the role dropdown — Members see a static role label

Promoting someone to Admin gives them the ability to manage invites, change roles, and edit organization settings. This is useful for team leads who need management access.

Removing members

Admins and Owners can remove members by clicking the Remove button next to a member's name. Removing a member:

  • Revokes their access to the organization immediately
  • Does not delete their Joyous account
  • Does not affect other organizations they may belong to

You cannot remove yourself or the Owner.

Creating invites

Click the Invite button in the Members tab header to open the invite dialog. See Inviting Team Members for the full guide on creating and managing invite codes and links.

Review your members list periodically. Remove members who have left the team and promote active contributors to Admin if they need management capabilities.
