Views & Navigation Overview

Joyous is built around fast, predictable navigation. The sidebar gives you one-click access to every section, views let you display work in the format that suits your workflow, and favorites keep your most-used items at your fingertips.

Sidebar navigation

The sidebar is the primary navigation structure. It includes:

• Home — Your personal dashboard with assigned cards and recent activity
• Inbox — Notifications with an unread count badge
• Outcomes — All outcomes across the organization
• Work Cards — All work cards in a global list or board view
• Sprints — All sprints across the organization
• Teams — Listed individually with custom icons, with nested outcomes below each
• Favorites — Starred items pinned at the top for quick access

Page types

Joyous uses two primary page patterns:

• List pages — Show multiple items with filtering, sorting, and view toggling (board vs. list). Used for Outcomes, Work Cards, Sprints, and Members.
• Detail pages — Show a single entity with tabs, a properties sidebar, and a rich content area. Used for individual outcomes, work cards, sprints, and teams.

Mobile navigation

On mobile, the sidebar becomes a hamburger menu accessible from the top-left corner of every page. The same navigation structure is available — tap to expand teams and access any section.
