Profile Settings
Edit your name, avatar, bio, title, skills, and capacity.
Your profile tells teammates who you are, what you do, and what you're good at. Joyous uses this information to display your identity across the app and to help with features like AI-powered assignee suggestions.
Editing your profile
Open Settings → Profile to access all profile fields. Changes are auto-saved with a debounce — just type and your updates are persisted automatically.
Basic information
- Full name — Your display name across the app. Appears on avatars, comments, activity feeds, and assignee lists.
- Email — Your account email (read-only in the profile view).
- Job title — Your role or function, like "Engineering Lead" or "Product Designer." Shows up on your profile and helps teammates understand your responsibilities.
- Bio — A short description of what you do (up to 280 characters).
Avatar customization
Click the avatar color picker to choose a background color for your avatar. Your initials are displayed on this colored circle throughout the app — in comments, assignee dropdowns, team member lists, and activity feeds.
Choose a distinctive avatar color to make yourself easy to spot in card assignments and comment threads. Bright, saturated colors work best.
Skills
Skills are organized into four categories that describe your expertise:
- Mastered — Skills you excel at and can teach others
- Capable — Skills you can handle well and deliver consistently
- Developing — Skills you're actively growing through practice
- Growth interest — Skills you want to learn and develop
Add skills by typing in the input field for each category and pressing Enter. Remove skills by clicking the X next to a skill tag. The AI agent can use your skills when suggesting assignees during Decompose.
Capacity
Set your availability so teams can plan work effectively:
- Hours per week — How many hours you're available for work (default: 40)
- Allocation % — What percentage of your time is currently allocated to active work
These values help managers understand workload distribution across the team.
Profile changes are auto-saved with a short delay. You'll see a "Saving..." indicator while changes are being persisted, followed by "Saved" confirmation.
