Marketing Campaigns
Plan and execute marketing campaigns with outcomes and work cards.
Marketing campaigns involve dozens of moving pieces — content creation, ad production, event coordination, partner outreach — all working toward a launch date or campaign goal. Joyous helps marketing teams define campaign objectives, track deliverables, and see progress across every workstream.
Setting up a campaign
Outcomes as campaign goals
Create an outcome for each campaign with a clear, measurable goal:
- "Generate 500 qualified leads from Q3 product launch campaign"
- "Increase brand awareness — reach 100K impressions across social channels"
- "Drive 2,000 registrations for annual user conference"
Add success signals that define what winning looks like: "500 MQLs in CRM by October 1," "Conference registration target met 2 weeks before event."
Work cards as deliverables
Break each campaign into its component deliverables:
- Content: "Write 4 blog posts for launch sequence"
- Design: "Create social media graphics for all platforms"
- Ads: "Set up and launch paid social campaigns"
- Events: "Coordinate speaker lineup for webinar series"
- PR: "Draft and distribute press release"
Use AI Decompose on your campaign outcome — it's especially good at surfacing work you might forget, like "Set up UTM tracking" or "Schedule email drip sequence."
Team organization
Create a Marketing team in Joyous and assign all campaign outcomes to it. This gives the team a dedicated space in the sidebar and a team detail page that shows all active campaigns with progress tracking.
If your marketing function has sub-teams (Content, Demand Gen, Events), you can create separate teams for each and assign outcomes accordingly.
Tracking execution
Progress via card completion
As deliverables move from Backlog → Committed → Done, the campaign outcome's progress bar fills automatically. This gives everyone — from the marketing manager to the CMO — a real-time view of where the campaign stands.
Health updates for stakeholders
Post regular health updates on campaign outcomes:
- On Track — "All content drafted, design assets in review"
- At Risk — "Vendor delay on event swag, looking for backup supplier"
- Off Track — "Paid social budget approval still pending from finance"
Collaboration in context
Use comments and @mentions on individual cards to discuss copy reviews, asset feedback, and approvals. Everything stays connected to the deliverable it relates to.
Link campaign briefs, brand guidelines, and creative assets in the outcome's Resources row. This keeps reference material one click away from the work.
