Teams & Members Overview
Organize your people into teams that own outcomes and work.
Teams are how you organize people and scope work in Joyous. Each team groups members who collaborate on shared outcomes, creating clear ownership and making it easy to see who's responsible for what. Teams appear in the sidebar for quick navigation and serve as the natural home for outcomes and work cards.
How teams work
Every team in Joyous represents a group of people working toward shared goals:
- Teams own outcomes — When you create an outcome, you assign it to a team. The team's detail page shows all its outcomes with progress tracking.
- Members belong to teams — Organization members can be added to one or more teams. Team membership determines what shows up in team-scoped views.
- Sidebar navigation — Each team appears in the sidebar, giving members one-click access to their team's work.
Team structure
Teams sit between the organization and individual outcomes:
Organization → Teams → Outcomes → Work Cards
This structure means you can view work at any level — see everything across the org, focus on a single team, or drill into a specific outcome.
Create teams that mirror your actual working groups. "Engineering," "Marketing," and "Product Design" work better than overly specific teams like "Q3 Marketing Sprint Team." Teams should be durable groupings that outlast any single project.
