Onboarding Overview

End-to-end guide for setting up an organization on Joyous.

Getting your team onto Joyous takes just a few steps — create an organization, invite your people, set up teams, and start working. This section walks you through the entire onboarding journey, whether you're the founder setting everything up or a new member joining an existing org.

The onboarding journey

When you first sign up for Joyous, the onboarding flow guides you through a decision: create a new organization or join an existing one with an invite code. From there, the path branches depending on your role.

For organization creators

If you're setting things up from scratch, your journey looks like this:

  1. Sign up — Create your account with email/password or Google OAuth
  2. Create your organization — Set your org name and company domain
  3. Set up your profile — Choose an avatar color, add your job title and bio
  4. Invite team members — Generate invite codes or shareable links
  5. Create teams — Organize members into functional groups
  6. Define your first outcome — Set a goal and start working

For new members joining

If someone shared an invite with you, your path is simpler:

  1. Accept the invite — Enter the 8-character code or click the shareable link
  2. Sign up or log in — Create an account if you don't have one
  3. Set up your profile — Choose your avatar color, title, and bio
  4. Start working — You'll land on the home page with access to your team's outcomes and cards

Admins can generate invite codes from Settings → Members. Each code is 8 characters and each link expires after 7 days, so you can share them freely without worrying about stale access.
