Inviting Team Members
Create invite codes and shareable links to bring your team on board.
Bringing your team into Joyous is as simple as sharing a code or a link. Admins and owners can generate invite codes from the settings panel, and new members can join in under a minute — no email verification loops, no waiting for approval.
Creating invites
Invites are managed from the Members tab in Settings.
Open Settings → Members
Click the settings icon and navigate to the Members tab. You'll see a list of all current organization members with their roles.
Click the Invite button
In the top-right corner, click the Invite button (visible only to admins and owners). This opens the invite dialog.
Click Create new invite
Hit Create new invite to generate a fresh invite. Joyous creates both an 8-character invite code and a shareable link instantly.

Sharing with your team
Each invite gives you two ways to share:
- Invite code — An 8-character alphanumeric code (like "293E984A") that new members type into the join screen. Great for sharing in Slack, chat, or verbally.
- Shareable link — A full URL that takes the recipient directly to the join flow with the invite pre-filled. Ideal for email or direct messages.
Both options have a copy button next to them — click to copy the code or link to your clipboard.
Invite codes and links expire after 7 days. The active invites list shows how many days remain for each one. You can generate new invites at any time.
Managing active invites
Below the creation button, the dialog shows all active invites for your organization with:
- The invite code in monospace font
- A countdown showing days remaining (e.g., "5d left")
- A copy button to re-share the code
- A delete button (trash icon) to revoke the invite
Deleting an invite immediately invalidates it — anyone who tries to use that code or link will see an error.

Invite permissions
Only Admins and Owners can create and manage invites. Members with the Member role won't see the Invite button in Settings. New members who join via an invite are assigned the Member role by default.
After a new member joins, you can promote them to Admin from the Members list using the role dropdown. See Roles & Permissions for what each role can do.
