Resources & Links

Attach documents, links, and resources to outcomes.

Outcomes don't exist in a vacuum — they're surrounded by design specs, project briefs, external tools, and reference material. The Resources row on every outcome lets you attach documents and links directly to the goal they support, keeping everything in one place.

The Resources row

Every outcome detail page has a Resources row that shows attached documents and external links inline. Resources appear as compact chips with icons — file icons for documents, link icons for external URLs — making them scannable at a glance.

Attach links to external tools, reference material, or related resources.

  1. Click the Add button

In the Resources row, click the + Add button to open the resource dropdown.

  2. Select 'Add a link'

Choose Add a link from the dropdown menu.

  3. Paste the URL and add a label

Enter the URL (e.g., a Figma file, Google Doc, or Notion page) and optionally add a descriptive label. If you skip the label, the URL itself is used as the display text.

  4. Click Add

The link appears in the Resources row as a chip with an external link icon. Click it to open the URL in a new tab.

Use descriptive labels for your links — "Q3 Design Mockups" is more useful than "figma.com/file/abc123." Labels are truncated to fit the row, so front-load the important words.

Creating documents

Joyous also supports entity documents — rich text documents that live inside the platform and are attached directly to an outcome.

  1. Click Add → Create document

From the Resources row dropdown, select Create document.

  2. Write your document

A new document opens with a rich text editor. Use it for scope analysis, project briefs, meeting notes, or any content that should live alongside the outcome.

Documents are color-coded by type in the Resources row — scope analysis documents appear in blue, refinement documents in purple, and general documents in gray — so you can quickly identify what each resource is.

Managing resources

  • Open a link — Click any external link chip to open it in a new tab
  • Open a document — Click a document chip to view or edit it
  • Remove a link — Hover over an external link and click the X button that appears

Resources are specific to the outcome they're attached to. If you need to share a document across multiple outcomes, link to it externally or create separate documents with cross-references.
